The Baby Cot is here!

Hello Baby Jayden,

Your almost last furniture is here – The Baby Cot! It was due for delivery in early December but then it did not happen because nobody activated it. Well, mummy got it all covered in my list of items to prepare and so after a phone call over the week, we got your cot delivered and installed, right where it belongs – beside me (on my side of the bed).

I visualised and re-anacted the scene of me feeding you at night and putting you back into your cot before tucking you to bed. Then Daddy snapped me out of the moment.

“We shouldn’t let do this too often to Baby Jayden. He will get used to it and he’d make you tuck him to bed every single night next time.” Bryan said.

I was astonished, “If Baby Jayden comes out and refuses to acknowledge you or call you daddy, we all know why.” I replied.

Daddy went on to show me a video of a Baby boy making his mum tuck him to bed and when the mum stopped, he’d pull the mum’s palm back to continue the tucking action. He’s always so negative.

I remember my parents still tucking me to bed when I was 8 years old and still staying up and falling asleep on my bed to teach me math when I was doing my O levels at 16 years of age. Then one day, I just grew out of it. I simply stopped craving for their attention as priorities in life changed.

We only have that phase in life where the child will want to be close to you. Once you miss it, you might never get it back. So cherish the time that you have with your child when he/she wants it, even if it gets irritating at times. (Gentle reminder to myself)

I hope that I will always be close to you Baby Jayden, but I know that it’d be difficult when you get older because I have been there, done that. So for now, I am just going to appreciate the time that we have together, Baby Jayden, and hope for the best in our future ahead!
